Design

American home designers have long looked to the architecture of old world Europe. Beginning in the 1930s, a number of architects from Georgia joined together to design some of the finest homes the South has ever known, creating a legacy of unparalleled architectural beauty. These homes are significant because of great detail in both interior and exterior finishes. These finished designs and details emerged from the study of the old European masters and their work. The Georgia School of Classicists created a signature for much of the great residential architecture in the South during the last century.

During the design process at Parti, we strive to invoke this same approach: study the classic homes of yesterday so as to create a timeless classic. Parti provides professional design services to help each client create a custom home with their unique signature.

Designing Your Home is Easy
Each of our homes begins with a Design Phase, during which Parti assists customers in designing the specific home that suits their lifestyle and budget. While we don't build from a book of "stock" plans, we do have plans of homes we have built as well as books of plans to assist with conceptual discussions. Many customers bring us a sketch of a plan they have or in some cases a photo of how they want the home to look when finished. These are helpful tools in defining the specifics of the design the customer may want. Parti receives a design fee to begin the design process.

Material Specifications
Once we have created a floor plan and elevations, Parti works with customers to specify a detailed finishing schedule for the home. This entails having the customer select specific fixtures and finishes for the home. Much of this can be done easily by "shopping" web sites of our partners. Or, customers may decide to select specific items from other sources. Either way, we are happy to include them in the Material Specifications for the home.

After working on the plans and finish selections for the home, we complete drawings and provide the Material Specifications for the customer's approval. All costs are itemized, and a detailed quote is provided. This way, customers know exactly what the costs will be for the plan, materials and finishes chosen.

Approval Process
If the customer is ready to go forward, plans for the home are then reviewed by licensed engineers to ensure compliance with all State Building Code requirements. Only after the plans have been approved by these engineers can they be submitted to the customer's state so Parti can begin construction of the home.
